Creation Lab - The Center for Student Creativity

As a lab to promote and nurture creativity, enhance problem solving skills and facilitate product development competencies, the Creation Lab serves as a center for scientific and technological explorations outside the classroom. This collaborative learning is aimed at fostering creativity and innovation, working with inter-disciplinary team, putting theory to practice, and enhancing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) skills.

Undergraduate Research

Undergraduate Research

VIT Mauritius considers undergraduate student involvement in applied research as an important aspect of its educational process. To build students’ skills and aptitude in applied research, part of the summer between the second and the third year is used to introduce to research projects. The capstone project in the final year serves as an important vehicle for a full scare applied research project. Interested students are encouraged to pursue a path towards a doctoral degree in engineering after graduations.

VIT Mauritius is designed to be an international institution with a diverse student body, each bringing the best of global traditions, cultures, values and the aspirations of an evolving world. It offers students with study abroad program, opportunities to partner with renowned institutions on projects dealing global issues on technology deployment, and addressing health, social and economic welfare. International Projects such as the Engineering Projects in Community Service (EPICS) at Purdue University, USA serves as vehicle for our students’ participation. This global collaboration brings students with diverse background together and becomes an avenue to share their knowledge, expertise, experience, perspectives and achieve a rich global experience.

Global Competition

Global Competition

VIT Mauritius students are encouraged, and supported to participate in global technology competitions. MIT, USA’s project, “MIT Hack” and the American Society for Engineering Education’s (ASEE) “Engineering Project Competitions” at its Annual Conference are used as the key mechanisms for global competitions. These competitions enable the students to showcase their individual talents, get recognized for their work, acquire new skills, and get the best opportunity to network with students across the globe.

VIT Mauritius curricula are designed to help the graduates to become technology savvy professionals while providing them with the necessary tools and opportunities to pursue careers as entrepreneurs and business leaders. VIT Mauritius Entrepreneurship Center membership is another important aspect of student experience on campus. Students interested in becoming entrepreneurs will find the volunteer membership of the center to be an excellent enabling mechanism to nurture entrepreneurial mind-set, develop business ideas, transform product ideas into marketable products, build industry networks, and develop plans for start-ups.

Eligibility

•⁠ ⁠English should have been studied at the higher secondary level OR the candidate should have studied in an English medium school.
•⁠ ⁠Mathematics and Physics are compulsory two subjects at HSC/ A level/ Form VI/ Senior VI or its equivalent.
•⁠ ⁠The third subject can either be Chemistry / Computer Sciences / Electronics / Biotechnology.
•⁠ ⁠A pass with a Minimum aggregate of 55% in the subjects mentioned above in standard XII or its equivalent. For candidates from Nepal, a pass with a minimum of 55% aggregate in the above subjects for Class 11 and Class 12 put-together is mandatory.
•⁠ ⁠For grade points, an equivalency marks card attained from the school is to be produced.
